Change in Recycling Program
Due to customer preference and processing costs, Allied Waste is suspending the recycling of glass and beginning the recycling of cardboard. All cardboard boxes must be broken down and inner packaging materials removed. No waxed/slick cardboard will be accepted.
Franklin County:
Effective February 2, 2008, Saturdays will be open for Franklin County residents only from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. You must have a voucher from the Franklin County Solid Waste Coordinator to dump free. One load each - must use citizens’ box. The landfill will be closed. Construction debris, dump trucks, or dump trailers will not be permitted. Household trash only.
Items to be collected:
Plastic milk and water jugs, plastic soft drink bottles (2 liters), steel cans, newspapers (including ads and inserts) aluminum cans, and cardboard. No hazardous waste, batteries, refrigerators, items containing Freon, tires, or paint will be accepted for disposal.
